Here Sly is having a pop at people who only like art if it costs a lot. Councils used to denounce Banksy as a vandal and scrub his work off the walls. Last week a council lost a Banksy and asked him to come back and do another one. It’s only because he’s famous: his paintings were just as “good” when he wasn’t.

The painting also includes an illusion: showing the mind only sees want it wants to see.
